4. Speak, for you feel His burning love,
What zeal it spreads through all your frame; That sacred fire dwells all above,
For we on earth have lost the name. 5. Proclaim His wonders from the skies,
Let every distant nation hear;
Let humble mortals bow and fear.
L. M. 1. The Lord is King ! lift up thy voice, O earth, and all
heavens rejoice! From world to world the joy shall ring:
The Lord omnipotent is King !
The Judge of all the earth is just :
Let every creature speak His praise. 3. Come, make your wants, your burdens known;
The contrite soul He 'll ne'er disown;
His messages of love to bear.
His might decay, His love forsake;-
: Though tyrants rage, and kingdoms rise,
The nations melt-the tumult dies. 2. From sea to sea, through all the shores,
He makes the noise of battle cease;
He awes the trembling world to peace.
3. “Be still—and learn that I am God;
I'll be exalted o'er the lands;
. But still my throne in Zion stands." 4. O Lord of hosts, Almighty King !
While we so near Thy presence dwell,
And humbly bow before his face;
Let all within us seek His grace.
United choirs of angels sing;
Heaven's host their noblest praises bring. 3. Being of beings! may our praise
Thy courts with grateful incense fill;
Still hear and do Thy sovereign will.
The great Eternal reigns alone,
Nor angels climb the topless throne.
Of gems insufferably bright,
Substantial beams of gloomy night.
Look through and cheer us from above;
Yet we adore, and yet we love.
And bowed the heavens most high;
The darkness of the sky.
Full royally He rode;
Came flying all abroad.
His hid and secret place;
Encompassed He was.
Their fury to restrain;
For evermore shall reign. STERNHOLD.
Exulting strike the chord;
Confess th’ Almighty Lord.
Th' ascending God proclaim;
And shake creation's frame.
In that triumphant hour:
To His right hand of power.
Exulting strike the chord;
SPIRIT OF THE PSALM8.
That Thou the only Lord
By all the earth adored.
To Thee the powers on high,
Continually do cry:
Whom heavenly hosts obey,
Of Thy majestic sway!
And prophets crowned with light,
Thy constant praise recite.
O Lord, confesses Thee,
Of boundless majesty.
And in His strength rejoice;
Exalted he our voice.
And psalms of honor sing:
The whole creation's King.
How mean their natures seem,
When once compared with Him.
4. Earth, with its caverns dark and deep,
Lies in His spacious hand;
And where the hills must stand.
Come, kneel before His face;
the creatures of His power
1. The Lord-how fearful is His name!
How wide is His command !
Rests on His mighty hand.
And light his awful robe;
He manages the globe.
Can swell or sink the seas;
Or break them as He please.
His glory beams above;
And takes His title, Love.
sway us as He will;
We are His favorites still.
The tongue no more complain;
