HYMNS OF FAITH AND HOPE. BY HORATIUS BONAR, D.D., KELSO, AUTHOR OF THE "NIGHT OF WEEPING," "THE MORNING OF JOY," ETC. NEW YORK: ROBERT CARTER & BROTHERS, No. 530 BROADWAY. 1857. THE NEW YORK, PUBLIC LIBRARY 240 246 ASTOR, LENOX AND TILDEN FOUNDATIONS. 1901 STEREOTYPED BY THOMAS B. SMITH, 82 & 84 Beekman Street. S. B. THOMSON, 82 & 84 Beekman St. PRINTED BY E. O. JENKINS, 24 Frankfort St. PREFACE. MOST of the following pieces have appeared already in different journals, or in other shapes and ways, during the last twelve years. They are now gathered together into one volume, in order that anything useful in them may be preserved and made more accessible. They are what they are here called, Hymns of Faith and Hope. They belong to no church or sect. They are not the expressions of one man's or one party's faith and hope but are meant to speak what may be thought and spoken by all to whom the Church's ancient faith and hope are dear.
