Repealing clause.

SEC. 3. All acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act, be and the same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER XCII.

Dedication.

Repealing clause.

AN ACT to dedicate to the use of the Mount Zion Baptist Church (Colored) lot uumber 6 in block 179 in the city of Lincoln.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Nebraska:

SECTION 1. That lot number six in block one hundred and seventy-nine in the city of Lincoln in this State is hereby dedicated to the use of the "Mount Zion Baptist Church" (Colored), of the city of Lincoln. Provided, however, that said church shall within one year from the passage of this act use and occupy such lot for church purposes; And provided further, That if at any time such church shall abandon the use of said lot for the period of one year the title to said lot shall revert to this State and be disposed of in the manner provided by law for the sale and disposition of other lots in the city of Lincoln belonging to the State.

SEC. 2. All acts and parts of acts in conflict with this act are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER XCIII.

Preamble.

AN ACT to re-appropriate the sum of five hundred dollars to assist in the completion of the National Lincoln Monument at or near Springfield, Illinois.

Whereas, By an act of the legislature of the State of Nebraska, entitled "An act making an appropriation

to aid in the construction of the National Lincoln Monument, at or near Springfield, in the State of Illinois," approved February 15th, 1869, the sum of five hundred dollars was appropriated for that purpose, and

Whereas, Said National Lincoln Monument is still incomplete, and the necessity for such appropriation is as great now as at any other time, therefore,

CHAPTER XCIV.

To transfer

AN ACT to authorize the state treasurer to transfer forty-five 'thousand dollars from the state sinking fund to the state general fund.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Nebraska:

SECTION 1. CHAPTER XCV.

AN ACT to aid and encourage the "Nebraska State Historical
Society."

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Nebraska:

SECTION 1. That the "Nebraska State Historical Society," an organization now in existence-Robt. W. Furnas, president; James M. Woolworth and Elmer S. Dundy, vice presidents; Samuel Aughey, secretary, and W. W. Wilson, treasurer, their associates and successors-be, and the same is hereby recognized as a state institution.

SEC. 2. That it shall be the duty of the president and secretary of said institution to make annually reports to the

Said report to embrace the transactions and expenditures of the organization, together with all historical addresses, which have been or may hereafter be read before the society or furnished it as historical matter, a data of the state or adjacent western regions of country.

SEC. 4. CHAPTER XCVI.

AN ACT to provide for the taking down and removal of the material entering into the construction of the old capitol building, and to provide for the erection of the main building of the new capitol of the state of Nebraska, and to levy a tax of one-half of one mill on the dollar, and appropriate the moneys arising from said levy to pay for said new capitol building.

WHEREAS, The old capitol building of the state of Preamble. Nebraska occupies the site designated by the legislature of the state for the main building of the new capitol, and it is necessary to remove the same before entering upon the construction of the main building of the new capitol; and

WHEREAS, The east and west wings of the new capitol building are now completed, and it is desired that the main building of the new capitol should be erected, therefore

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Nebraska : SECTION 1. The board of public lands and buildings are hereby authorized and required within ten days moval of old from the passage of this act, and the approval of this act by the governor, to advertise in three newspapers of the largest circulation in the state of Nebraska, one in Lincoln, one in Omaha, and one in Hastings, Nebraska, for not less than 60 days, for bids on the taking down of the old capitol building and the removal of the material out of which the same is composed from the capitol grounds, and the sale of said material; which said advertisement shall require the person or persons bidding thereon, to take down and remove the old capitol building and the material composing the same from the capitol grounds without injury or damage to the east and west wings of the new capitol, within sixty days from the date of the contract for the taking down and removal of the same.

SEC. 2. It shall be the duty of the board of public lands and buildings to accept the best bid for the taking down and removal of the old capital building, in accordance with section one of this act, and to require the person or persons whose bid or bids are accepted for said removal, to give bond to the state of Nebraska in the sum of fifteen thousand dollars for the faithful performance of said contract and to pay all damages or injury done to the east wing or the west wing of the new capitol building.
