com To two classes of readers, specially, we desire to express thankfulness. Those who have kindly supplied us with interesting facts or suitable contributions, or have assisted in extending our circulation, or mending our important work to the attention of friends. Those, also, who have so generously responded to the Special Notices we have occasionally given of interesting Schools in pecuniary difficulties, or other objects of peculiar interest. The total amount thus contributed throughout the year is nearly £200, and we can assure those who bestowed it, that in no case has their liberality been misapplied ; that even now, with our present knowledge, we could recommend the objects with equal sincerity. We trust that fresh efforts may yet be made to procure for us an increased number of readers, as it is greatly to be desired that the publication should yield a sufficient return, at least, to defray the expenses of production. No effort will be spared for rendering its pages increasingly interesting, and it is confidently hoped that, with increased facilities, our future course will be eminently progressive. A.
