JUNE.--A committee was appointed to confer with committees or representatives of other missionary societies or boards, concerning the establishing of missions in Cuba, Porto Rico, and the Philippines. The President, Vice Presidents, and Recording Secretary of the Society and Board, and the standing committees of the Board, for the ensuing year were elected. Mr. J. A. Punderford resigned as a mem

ber of the Board of Managers; Rev. J. L. Hurlbut. Secretary of the Sunday School Union and Tract Society, and Mr. Charles P. Armstrong, of Baltimore city, were elected members of the Board of Managers. JULY.-Rev. Samuel Knowles and Rev. Dennis Osborne, of India, were recognized as missionaries of the Society. Mr. C. P. Armstrong declined to accept his election as a manager, and Mr. George Clinton Batcheller was elected in his place. Rev. Ensign McChesney, D.D., resigned as a member of the board.

SEPTEMBER.-Rev. Albert S. Hunt, D.D., a member of the Board of Managers for thirty-two years, died September 11, and the Board attended his funeral in Brooklyn, September 14. Mr. George R. Howe resigned as a member of the Board. Rev. Wm. F. Anderson, Ph.D., of New York, Rev. Charles S. Wing, D.D. of Brooklyn, and Mr. John R. Curran, of Paterson, N. J., were elected members of the Board of Managers. A paper was ordered sent to the American members of the Peace Commission in

paid from special gifts. Rev. J. F. Jenness was recommended for appointment as a missionary to South America. Self-support in the European missions was urged.

DECEMBER. A committee was appointed to attend the funeral of Rev. Daniel Wise, D.D., for many years a member of the Board, and to prepare a memorial minute for record. The establishment of a mission press at Malange, Africa, was authorized; Rev. B. S. Haywood and wife were approved for appointment to Mexico; Rev. J. C. Sherrill and wife, Mr. Joe A. Davis, and Miss Amanda Davis were approved as missionaries to Liberia; several others were appointed or recommended as missionaries to South America, Japan, Korea, and Africa, subject to medical examination and examination by Committee on Nominations and General Reference; Rev. J. B. Thomas was authorized to return to India; Rev. A. K. Sanford, D.D., was elected Vice President of the Society and Board. Missionary apportionments

OCTOBER.-It was ordered that the treasurers of all foreign Conferences and Missions should forward all moneys raised for missions to the treasurer of the Missionary Society in New York at the adjournment of their annual meeting.
