Freemasonry in AMERICA was torpedoed by one man in 1826. Then Freemasonry in AMERICA all but died! Mormonism was born as a new religion in 1830 seemingly from the ashes of Freemasonry. As it turned out, Freemasonry unknowingly provided inspiration and direction for Mormonism to develop and grow. The secretive fraternity of Freemasonry and the secretive religion of Mormonism grew using the same tenants. The world now benefits from the growth and services of both organizations.

The author is a 50+ year active Mason who once lived near Nauvoo, Illinois where he developed a deep interest in the onetime Nauvoo Mormon Colony. After he became a Freemason, his interest took on a new focus when he discovered the Masonic presence within the colony. Aside from his Nauvoo investigation, the author spent time publishing a Scottish Rite Newsletter in which he wrote numerous historical articles regarding Masonic personalities and events. The reader should find this extensive historical presentation well worth reading.
